A quiet obsession with systems that don't page you at 3am.
I've spent the last five years in the .NET ecosystem — inside product teams and consultancies, building for clients who needed a senior pair of hands. My work sits mostly on the server: designing APIs, modelling data, and untangling the parts of a codebase everyone else has learned to avoid.
I care about the unglamorous things. Clear boundaries between layers. Migrations that run once and correctly. Logs that tell you what actually happened. The result is software that behaves the same on a Tuesday afternoon as it does under Friday-evening load.
Clients bring me in to modernise ageing .NET Framework systems, cut database costs, or stand up a greenfield service on Azure without accumulating a year of technical debt in the first sprint.
Most recently that has meant observability — collecting traces, logs and metrics off distributed industrial machines so engineers can reproduce a customer incident locally instead of guessing at it.
